The History of Blue Ash

Blue Ash, Ohio has a rich history dating back to the early 1800s. The community was originally known as "Crossroads" due to its location at the intersection of several major roads. The name "Blue Ash" is believed to have been inspired by the blue ash trees that grew in the area and were used for making tool handles and furniture.

During the mid-19th century, Blue Ash was a busy agricultural community with several grist mills, saw mills, and other businesses. The arrival of the Marietta and Cincinnati Railroad in 1864 helped to spur further development in the area, making it easier for farmers to transport their goods to market.
